Welcome to Meme's Christmas & More...
Kids are quick, they have a mind set all their own! That is what makes them so uniquely individual.
I never did figure out how I managed to raise two children and I can not quiet grasp the fact that my kids are raising three and four a piece!
It reminds me of those old movies...you know the one's! Lucille Ball & Henry Fonda in Yours, Mine & Ours. (Based on a true story, and my
favorite movie!) Or, My Six Loves, with Debbie Reynolds, Cliff Robertson & David Janssen. And With Six You Get Eggroll, Doris Day & Brian
Keith. They knew how to raise kids in the Good Old Days!!!!
At least they did in the movies!
We as kids amazed our parents, and in turn my kids and theirs have truely amazed me! And I am sure that you as a parent have experienced this.
And to top it all off, they have truely amazing spouses that actually help raise their children! Excuse the poor grammer, but "Who'd a Thunk
It?????
I just thought that while you were all waiting so patiently for information on the book to come out, that I would entertain you with whatever my
aged mind could conjure up!
So please don't be shy, sign my guestbook, make any comments, just keep them clean please!
Children are visiting this site.
Oh, and may all your days be "Merry and Bright, not just on Christmas Night!"

Youth: A word Wasted on the young.
Truth: What you convince yourself of.
Ignorance: A phase of life often repeated.
Hope: A wish for the future time and again.
Dreams: A fifty fifty chance of changing
anything.
Nightmare: A way to punish yourself.
Laughter: A great stress relief remedy.
Kids do say some amazing things. And if we listen we might learn that life could be a little
easier on us, or we on ourselves.

The Story Behind the Stories!
Money, or rather the lack of it, had me in my usual Christmas tizzy about what to get for everyone, especially seven very young grandchildren. I
wanted something the kids would treasure that was uniquely their own. I decided I would write each of them a special Christmas story, then
transfer it to a notebook of some sort, and decorate it with decals and glitter glue. Figuring I could spend about a week getting them all
together...Guess Again!!!!
As it turned out, I spent a month on these stories, the cutting, pasting, and glitter writing. Then there were the decals, the notebooks to put them
in, and the endless hours of sleeplessness!
Then came the thing I Hate the most ! Gift wrapping ! I am by far the World's worst gift wrapper. When I cut a square of paper off, I don't trim it! I
fold all the excess paper in at the end and whichever way it will go until I can put enough tape on it to hold it in place!
But not this time! The wrapping had to be perfect, or as close as I could get. I got a special size box to put them in to make my gift wrapping
easier.... Well, I can dream can't I? To my chagrin, this took about three hours out of my life! I must admit though, when I was finished, they
looked wonderful! I also swore...NEVER AGAIN!
The People Behind The Stories
A story of any kind, always has people behind the scenes. Before, during and after. I have a younger sister who has been after me for years to
finish one of my stories. I was happy to let her know I was finally going to be published! But, for years, she has believed in me as I have believed
in her. And it's ditto for the wonderful man she married...There is another story I should write about!
My older sister sits quietly on the sidelines, but I know she too believes in me. And a big brother and his wonderful wife who have faith in me as
well.
Neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, friends...Old and New, best and very best!
My lovely daughters and their husbands helping me through the new phases of Authorhood...similar I think to menopause!
My grandchildren for just loving me.
And the many people who have asked to be notified when this book is released. I am awed by their numbers, and I add more every day!
People Make an Author, and Authors Make People Think, Wish and Dream!

At last, another Christmas has come and slowly faded into the Horizon, to lay in wait yet again in
the future! Are you ready? Already it is time to look and plan ahead. For most of us, and that does
include me, we waited until the last possible moment to get this most recent Christmas wrapped
up! Some people actually start planning for the next one as soon as the last one has elapsed! I am
not such a one! Like most people, I want to catch up to myself and the endless array of bills that I
never seem to have caught up. The season only tends to aggravate this problem. The Christmas of
2004, I found myself in a flurry to write personal stories to my 7 grandchildren. I thought the 70 plus
hours draining and rewarding, but it was nothing to the past year of trying to get these 7 stories in
print! It started in February and finally the book was released at Thanksgiving! But the clincher?
The official release date of Meme's Christmas Stories was January 11th 2006! Well, even a
Christmas book can sell out of season! If you are a Christmas lover, then it just doesn't matter
when you discover a treasure for Christmas. I watch Christmas movies throughout the year. I love
to feel the spirit of Christmas, no matter the actual season. I hope you do too!

Life is but a short breath.
Love is an eternity.
Friendship is forever.
God is always there.
Dreams do come true.
Cats and Dogs are People too, just another color, another
ethnicity, another of God's miraculous creatures.
Prayer is the best gift God has given us, and a right of all
People's.
Children are blessed by God, and a Treasure to Cherish for as
long as God wills it.
Live with God's Blessing, ypu will be happier.
I find that as I grow older, patience is so much easier than rushing around trying to catch up to myself, or
to any one else. Slow down and enjoy the good things in life, especialy those you love. Today is now,
and tomorrow is but a twinkle in the greater expanse of life.
